A delicate floral infusion of dried linden blossoms and bracts, traditionally served warm, with honey and lemon offered on the side.

Serves 2 • Prep 2 minutes • Steep 5–10 minutes

INGREDIENTS

• 500 ml water

• 2 small pinches dried food-grade linden blossoms and bracts, about 2 tablespoons loosely filled

• Honey and lemon slices, optional

METHOD

1. Heat the water to boiling, then remove from the heat and let it settle briefly.

2. Put the linden in a teapot and pour over the hot water.

3. Cover and infuse for 5–10 minutes, tasting after 5 minutes.

4. Strain into cups and serve warm. Add honey or lemon only to taste.

SERVING

Keep the infusion light and floral. Avoid repeatedly boiling the flowers, which can overwhelm their delicate aroma.

CULTURAL NOTE

Ihlamur is part of Türkiye’s shared home tea culture rather than a drink exclusive to one region.
